Watch mountain goats play while overlooking beautiful Doughty Valley and enjoying an authentic, delicious meal. Enjoy traditional favorites like our Cheese Fondue and Schnitzel, as well as classic dishes with a European twist. You’ll find something for everyone!

A longtime dream of Margaret Guggisberg’s became a reality in 1983, when Chalet in the Valley Restaurant first opened its doors to serve the authentic recipes she had grown up with and loved. She and her husband, Alfred, had established and operated Guggisberg Cheese, across the street, for over 30 years, and she was ready for a new adventure.

Margaret supervised the operation when it opened, and continued to play a key role in daily functions up until her passing in 2015.

Still under the operation of the Guggisberg family, Chalet in the Valley still serves her original recipes, and you can find many of them to be prepared with delicious Guggisberg cheese.



The inside of the restaurant has the atmosphere of a chalet, with rich wood and a warm cozy feeling from the old country.
